Metro United Homeschool Soccer

Coach Code of Conduct

As a Metro United Coach, I . . .

  • support that Metro United is founded on and guided by Christian principles as we seek to provide an excellent, competitive high school homeschool soccer program at a reasonable price that helps boys and girls become men and women of integrity and character who will lead, work hard, and practice good sportsmanship.

  • strive to coach with excellence by developing the skills of each player, the competitiveness of my team, and the quality of the Metro United program.

  • demonstrate integrity by preparing practice plans, arriving at least 15 minutes before practices, and 30 minutes before games.

  • communicate my expectations directly and clearly to provide each player with a fair opportunity to improve in the areas that impact playing time such as skills, work ethic, commitment, and attitude.

  • speak and act respectfully when I instruct and correct players, as well as when I interact with parents, opposing coaches, referees, Metro United staff, and volunteers.

  • appreciate players who strive to exemplify the Player Code of Conduct.

  • agree with the twelve tenets of the Sport and Christianity Declaration (www.sportandchristianity.com).

  • recognize that I am an influential adult in the players’ lives and that my ultimate success will not be measured by this season’s record, but in having contributed to players becoming men and women of integrity and character.

  • participate as a coach in the Metro United Player Safety Policy.

  • allow for accountability and take responsibility for my actions when I fail to live up to these standards.
